Para Usted . . .

. . . que ha visto siempre al Ferrocarril como un símbolo de progreso, como una fuerza impulsora de la civilización, como un pedestal ancho y sólido de la economía cubana;

Para Usted . . .

. . . que mira al Ferrocarril sin interpretar su significado, sin haberse adentrado en sus interiores para conocer la grandeza de su influencia, desarrollo y posibilidades;

Para Ustedes . . .

For You . . .

. . . who has always seen the Railroad as a symbol of progress, like a force propelling civilization, like a solid and wide base of the Cuban economy;

For You . . .

. . . who looks at the Railroad without understanding its significance, without having searched deeper into in its soul to learn the magnitude of its influence, capacity, and potential;

For All of You . . .

. . . this labor continues—the enormous expansion effort, the excellence of railroad execution, the unending attempt to reach the deepest root. Labor performed by men working hard and with an unyielding foundation of honesty—all for the homeland. Labor both benefiting and serving as an example to our countrymen, who are both our colleagues and our observers. From the 50 year start which we briefly annotate here, springs the splendid and convincing capacity of the Cuban. This capacity, along with the requirements and customs of the Railroad, unite for continued progress for our beloved Cuba.
